Linda for School Board
Why do I want to serve as a school board trustee?
I have a passion for our school and the kids. I have been a very involved parent, community member and teacher and I feel that I have all the necessary pieces needed to be a successful school board trustee.
I did not move to this community to just live here but I made a conscious decision to really become a part of it. I think that my track record shows my commitment to the community and school community.
I have built wonderful relationships with many in the community and school community. I want to take my service to the next level by using my skill sets and these positive relationships by serving as your school board trustee.
My platform is “Putting Kids First.”
I truly believe that when making decisions, if we ask ourselves is this what is best for our kids? Then we will be doing our jobs.
I grew up in Western New York and attended college outside of Rochester New York where I received my teaching in 1977.I have been a Douglas County resident for 24 years and my husband Billy has worked for Bently/G.E. for 32 years. Our children attended schools in Douglas County from K-12.I have worked and taught in the school district off and on as a substitute teacher and as a long term substitute for over 17 years.
Until recently I worked for a nonprofit where I ran a club called S.T.O.P., Students Taking On Prevention. This program brought me into the middle and high schools twice a month to work with youth. I currently work for Tahoe Youth & Family Services as a mentor coordinator. I collaborate with the school counselors who provide me with the kids who could benefit from having a mentor. Every job that I have held has always led me back to the youth in our community.
I am asking for your support in this coming election
